He was a well know tyer in my area. When I was growing up My Dad would bring his bucktails from his butcher shop to Les to tie up some patterns for him. He was the sweetest man. I still have a few flies on hand still in my Dads old fly collection. Rogers, 90, died peacefully after a brief illness on Dec. 24, 2010 at Maine Medical Center. Lester was born on July 24, 1920 in Gorham. He worked at the S.D. Warren Paper Company until his retirement in 1982. After his retirement Lester and his wife Barbara enjoyed traveling to Florida, Alaska, and the Netherlands. He was an avid gardener and established a perennial garden business (Blue Hen Gardens) with Barbara. Lester was passionate about tying and selling flies and loved to talk fishing and hunting with many of his customers.
